In particular, Doug Herr wanted me to post a picture of my 400mm f2.8 APO Telyt for use on his web site. Below is a picture of me taken last night at a football game. It was dark under the lights, so I had to supplement with flash. I used a Metz 54 and mounted it to the lens. It also illustrates how I hold the monopod and use the thumb from the monopod hand to do the focusing. The photo was taken by my good friend George Ghiz using a Nikon N90, 300f4 AF-D Nikkor and the SB26 flash. We were both shooting Provia 400F with a two stop push to EI 1600. http://home.istar.ca/~robsteve/photography/images/IRC/Rob400.jpg I didn't have a lot of success with the flash combination. Lots of Red Eye and blown out whites. One of the better shots is below. BTW, I also developed George's film shot with the N90 and the SB26. The Nikon did a better job with the flash exposure. Probably because the D lens transmits the focus distance to the flash. I meant to dial in -2/3 flash compensation on my rig, but decided to try it as is. I probably would not have had blown out whites if I did this. They just keep the white uniforms too clean! http://home.istar.ca/~robsteve/photography/images/IRC/SMUmta-10-11-2002-001.jpg I am off to France tonight and will be out of touch for a few weeks. Hopefully, I will have some nice images to share with the group upon my return. Regards, Robert - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
