Subject: [Leica] Do you really need AF when using a R8?

Every time I use the 400mm I manage to get some decent in focus shots, even
when shooting wide open. The finder is just so bright and the focus so
smooth on the 400mm that after a bit of practice, I can follow focus using
my thumb from the mono pod hand and keep a lot of things in focus.

Below is an image taken last week, shot with a R8 and 400mm f2.8 APO-Telyt .

Just fractions of a second before the main:

I just finished shooting a girls Rugby game. I just developed the E200 and
it looks good. When it drys I will scan a few a good images and post them.

Regards,

Robert
