Well, sigh to you too, Marc. I have NEVER said that Erwin has or hasn't anything in this case. That's in your head. What I find simply silly, is the conclusions people are drawing that are based on no real facts, at all. One CAN speculate, of course, but label it as that. One can also disagree with speculation, but certainly, with absolutely NO hard facts, can not show said speculation to be incorrect. > Ethics work on two levels: actual conflict-of-interest and apparent > conflict-of-interest. > > Let us not confuse the two. Certainly I'm not confusing the two. > Erwin's statements in the past that he was > independent of Leica at the time were true at the time they were made. No, I disagree. It was publicly stated that Erwin DOES get equipment from Leica. That is HARDLY independent. Now, it would be so, if he got same equipment from "some" number of other manufacturers to test equally, but we know that's not the case...he is primarily Leica...and there's nothing wrong with that, but call a spade a spade, he IS seeded by Leica with equipment. > Do you seriously expect him to contact > EVERYONE on the Internet when he received payment for this, again, if he > did so? Of course not, and it's none of my business...but you're missing the point. If someone says they are entirely independent, and they are not, there is a problem. > Cool it, gents. How many gunmen were there in Dallas on 22 NOV 63? Shooters or gunmen? Ones that actually shot at the President, or simply carried guns? There were three who shot at the President. I can't tell you how many were carrying guns. > You > guys must believe that there were seven or eight. There may very well have been, but that's not the same as how many shot AT the President, now is it? Austin - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
