[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]- -- I also use Leica cassettes all the time for my IIIf & IIIa (which I use for about 80% of my shooting)--I have about 30 of them and keep adding more whenever I find them for less than $5 each. A few more observations about them: For use with a bulk loader ( I use old Watson 66s) it might not be immediately obvious that you have to thread them through the open slot. (I apologize if this is too simple-minded a suggestion, but I actually had to think about this a bit before loading my first Leica cassette--maybe there's another Lugger as dumb as me). After your film is developed, you must remove the torn off tab from the spool slit opposite the one into which you threaded the film. Otherwise a film chip is likely to get stuck in the spool, preventing you from using it again. --I've never been able to fix a spool after this happens--any tips? Instead of measuring a cassette to see if it's an M or screw-mount model, its easier to just look for the chrome or black tab, although if you have both types side-by-side the shorter M type is obvious.
