Here's my take on this group...and another photography group to which I belong: your presence here connects you to a vast group of individuals with a wealth of knowledge. Most, if not all, are readily willing to share what they know about all matters concerning anything photographic...and it's a hell of a lot easier than joining a different group. Most people on these lists have their feet in several ponds...color, black and white, traditional, digital, small format, large format. What a beautiful thing it is to have a question, post it and have several replies within an hour or two. Watch out for the Scotch, fountain pen, dog discussions if a little digital question bothers you. Is there another : forum that would cover flatbed scanners and digital hardware and software : that this person could bring this type of topic up? Please give some : feedback to me because if digital cameras, scanners and software are topics : discussed in this forum I will look for another Leica group or just hang it : up with these type of groups all together : Regards, : Kevin. : ----- Original Message ----- : From: "Albert Wang" <leica_phile@hotmail.com> : To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> : Sent: Thursday, August 08, 2002 9:54 AM : Subject: [Leica] I need an improved film negative/slide scanner... : : : > Hi folks, : > : > I got a Canoscan D600U flatbed scanner a few weeks ago for dirt cheap and : > it's great for making scans off prints but for slide scanning I haven't : > gotten any reasonable results yet.
