nathan,

here is your proof:

http://www.ricecracker.net/test/

the film was superia 1600. i was traveling from los angels to washington, dc
post 9/11 and had my film in clear ziploc bags without the cardboard or the
canisters. i requested a hand check and was denied and sent my film into the
scanner.

when i got these proof sheets back, there was a very obvious zig-zag fog
pattern across all the film. i asked the lab guys about it and they
identified it as x-ray fog which can be distinguished because it appears as
a very sharp wave across the negative.

the reason i did not like the "just live with it" answer is that it is not a
solution but a dismissal. someone else posted that double bagging with lead
bags is a way to insure that high speed film will be protected. that is a
great answer and a solution that i plan on using from now on.
