Particularly if the critics of digital printing would be honest enough to make a similar statement about digital prints. The question, with any and all print media, is what does it look like when viewed from the intended viewing distance. What an 11x14 or 30x40 looks like when some anal retentive steps up to the gallery wall to examine it with a loupe is really irrelevant. ;-) B. For years I've seen this nonsense about how 35 mm falls apart when enlarged above 11 x 14--yes, if you insist on putting the print under your nose! Nice to know.<<< Hi Ted, We have a 30X40 over the fire place in our living room from a Kodachrome 64 and it's beautiful. When I was at the National Film Board of Canada we regularly had the lab make 30X40, 30 X60 prints for NFB exhibitions. It' very simple really if one considers the bigger the print, the farther one should view it from in relation to the enlargement. At the correct viewing distance the picture is grainless. ted - -- Herbert Kanner kanner@acm.org 650-326-8204 Do not meddle in the affairs of cats, for they are subtle and will pee on your computer! - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
