Marshall,
I live in unpronouncible Natchitoches (Nak-a-tush, Native American for
Chinquipin eaters,) which is the oldest continuous settlement in the
Louisiana Purchase. The French folk hereabouts are of Colonial heritage.
Bayou Derbonne (which I photographed with my Leica, on-topic) was named in
1714 by French Marines.
Cajuns generally live further south, and were exiled from Canada sometime
later.
