My current printer (Epson 3000) has a maximum of 1440 DPI. I have been feeding it with files between 1200 and 1440 DPI at the printed image size, and I don't like thre results. They are very grainy and take medium format 50 ISO films and make them look like they were shot on 35mm at 800 ISO. I don't mind grain if the photographer wants to use it as part of the image, but usually I want little or no grain. Even with the Nikon scanner, I still get pictures that are not as sharp and smooth as professionally produced wet dark room results for color prints. Peizography I have no issues with it looks MUCH better than the color, and usually better than the wet dark room equivilant black and white print. There is a big difference in Peizography because of the software written for the process that actually bypasses the printing software in your OS and prints dotless images...still seems like magic to me, but the results are spectacular. - --- Don Dory <dorysrus@mindspring.com> wrote: > Err, Darrell.
