I used to enjoy looking at the Pop Photography "travel photographer's" work
(forgot his name, Bob Krist, or something like that) for this very reason.
Not only was his sense o' color frequently over the top, his use of wide
angles was pretty rad as well, with converging verticals a plenty. And
those outrageous, cornea-piercing, polarized indigo skies - ouch!

And this in a mag whose features aim to "show you how it's done."
