Karina,

This is ludicrous. I have attended Leica Days in Belgium and in Switzerland,
and in both countries Leica paid the customers to attend (by offering special
discounts)--that is how it should be. A proper Leica Day also includes a
technician who will give your cameras a quick check of things like
rangefinder, light meter and shutter speeds, for free.

Charging customers to attend is most certainly not standard practice.

I guess the only caveat is that perhaps the Perth event includes a sumptious
dinner sprinkled with the finest wines Australia has to offer?
