US customs might not be your problem.
Years ago, I had a friend who worked for the "news" show     A Current
Affair
They flew down to Rio in Brazil to do a segment on "train surfers" and
"floss bikinis"

They were racing to make thier flight back to the US when Brazilian customs
stopped them and asked them for
a US receipt for thier Professional Ikigama video equipment.  It took a
bribe of all the cash they had to get released with 10 minutes to spare to
make the flight.
