Good God almighty, folks - lens kept WIDE open - close it down and you're doing the magnifying glass and ant thing to the shutter....as to lens cap...What's that?

I spoke with Sherry yesterday.  Her take is that the smallest apertures
are the most damaging in these scenarios.  Best advice from her was also
to use lens caps religiously, as soon as the shot is taken.
