Check the archives.  This is old and familiar turf to the LUG.

When Leica sold the Midland, Ontario, plant, they retained the privilege to
have lenses manufactured there, and production has continued since then,
though it may now have ceased.  The first of the current 2/90 APO-Summicron
lenses supposedly came from Canada, I believe.
