Simon,

To ask the obvious, are the hood alignment pins on your lens oriented
vertically?

If they are then it seems the hood must have been separated and reglued with
incorrect orientation.

Assembly of Leica hoods has always been pretty inscrutable to me, probably not
to John Collier ;-)
