That works pretty well for me. BUT You'll have best results scanning in 12 bit and adjusting in Photoshop. There's a learning curve for this but its the only way I've found to get great results out of the scanner. The 4000 is very good hardware hampered by VERY POOR software. If you need help, contact me off list. Henry
