I may not like what is in front of my eyes but I can't say it wasn't really there. What Frank, Arbus, Mark, Weegee, Smith, and all the others presented to us was real. The point is that what they saw did/does exist. Denial doesn't get any of us anywhere. That another's experience is not our experience is always the case. Even within families, siblings stories of growing up can be extremely different. This diversity is what makes life so much fun. So, lets communicate our individual realities and accept that others see the world differently. Another's reality usually isn't wrong, it's just not our reality. I'm going to pick up my Leica and start a project that I've procrastinated on for a while. The neighborhood barber is an institution and will not long be in this world. I think his world should be documented as he has meant so much to so many people. Don dorysrus@mindspring.com
