The R4s that my daughter is using has developed a light leak in the curtain, which at the moment is showing up only on sunset (e.g., strong backlight) pictures.

Do you recommend:
(a)  repair, or
(b)  find a newer body (e.g., an R7)?

She does not like the R8, says the R4 fits her hand better.
