Greg  - -  I find the image quality exceptional, easily comparable to a
Leica R prime lens.  As to handling and heft, it is somewhat large and heavy
and some have commented on this, but as long as I do not have to carry it
long distances is it easy to shoot handheld on the R8.  However, I am used
to shooting action with the Leitz APO-TELYT-R 1:2.8/280 (even with 1.4x
and/or 2x extenders)and that is a seriously heavy lens.
