Crowds of tourists are ideal hunting grounds for pickpockets and other losers. You have to be reasonably aware so that you don't get your pocket picked. Additionally people tend to push and shove a lot, and you have to keep an eye out in order to avoid your equipment being bumped around. It's very distracting, as my ruining of a roll of Kodachrome demonstrates. That's only the second time I've exposed a roll like that (the last time, I salvaged most of the shots, but this time I decided to just write off the roll, since they were routine pictures that I can take again on another day).
