Myself, I refuse to make tiny prints and have standardized on 8 x 10, which is a reasonable size for my wall and not too big for one album page. Why don't you buy the proof printer that is made by Patterson. I print six strips of six frames each on one 8 x 10 sheet. Because the Patterson frame has a glass cover (unlike the crummy plastic cover of its predecessor) the proofs are good enough to evaluate facial expressions when examined with a low power loupe. I use the enlarger as a light source, since I'm working with color these days. Herb - ---------------------------------- I develop my film but use a vendor to make a contact sheet, then enlarge what I think is another wall hanger. On some, I would like just regular prints. How do you do this in your own darkroom, no paper this size etc. I note that a lot of members post their prints and assume that are using a computer to do their prints. Local prints are real expensive and since a machine usually does it, you may get your negatives scratched. - -- Herbert Kanner kanner@acm.org 650-326-8204
