Her subjects range from Mexican villagers to LA gangs and have both a documentary and surreal quality to them. The decisive moment of a dream. She started photographing in 1970 studying with Manuel Alvarez Bravo and claims Tina Modotti and Cartier-Bresson as influences. Her book "Images of the Spirit" was published by Aperture and is well worth seeking out. Very impressive work. Just thought I'd pass this along. Robert
