Yes all M cameras have the flip up back. The problem with loading LTM and M
cameras is not getting past the pressure plate, which is you surmised
chamfered slightly, but getting past the upper edge of the film gate. A long
leader does the trick as it then does not have get past the gate at all. It
is pulled horizontally across the gate.
