I found the auction on my own, and did read the story. yes, me too as a hopeless romantic..... I was at a camera swap meet this weekend.... I could not guess how many times guys would say they had shot this camera or that camera and the lens and shutter were fine....... If it were even 10% true, Kodak would be rich! I saw the Eisenhauer M3's, from a buyer along the way. I heard the story from his mouth. Turns out there were at least 2 sets of fakes..... ! Was this particular set the REAL set? the guy paid extra for the real cameras..... I like stories, but I do not pay for them. I think that is the message I wanted to state.... The M2 camera was beat up. It has seen a lot of something. It could have been at NG, on location. Certianly someone took the all those pictures, but this photographer? this camera? Good story. $2500 ???? I don't think so, even if the story was true. A beat up camera is a beat up camera. Take a non beat up camera, buy some black epoxy paint, and wear the finish off yourself. Save $1500. Did I nmention I went to school at Tufts? Jumbo the elephant was donated to the campus by P.T. Barnum. Who I think is the one who said..... there is a sucker born every minute.
