Quite exciting! I knew a cinematographer, a long time ago, can't even remember his name. He worked on a couple features, and I worked with him on one 60 sec commercial. He never talked about bokeh. But he always travelled with just two haliburton cases, this was maybe 1972 or 73. One case contained 3 light meters and numerous filters. The other case contained "my" lenses. He told me, "These two cases, my eye, and my mind are "my look". No one can duplicate my look. That's why people hire me." It left an impression on my 20 something mind. He apparently thought he could rent anything else he needed, except the glass and dead on accurate exposure. Those things he trusted to no one. George
