[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]thank you very much. as a matter of fact, my very first leica lens was/is a 90 summicron (version III, as per Puts). until i joined LUG, i always used the summicron at f8 or f11 with XP1 and the like. i really believed that you could never have too much depth of field and that your aperture should be as small as possible while still maintaining a hand-holdable speed. only after reading this group and seeing the kind of photographs you guys do, did i recently start shooting the summicron wide open, and wow-- what a different view! the LUG radically changed the way i made photographs; the only influence that can compare are all those adams and picker books i read in the mid-80's. despite the occasional bickering (which is zero compared with rec.photo.equipment.35mm), this group is worth its weight in gold. thanks to everyone, - -rei > > Sir, > > Your images are beautiful.
