Does anyone in LUGland have any experience with these. If so, how do you like it? I purchased one of these when they were first available from Fred P. at Zone VI. I got the standard cold light, not the VC. It is a monster enlarger, especially with the extended column. No vibration or movement. It is well made and it's by far the cheapest way to print 5x7 negs. I have only 2 complaints: 1. I had to put more foam under the head to stop light leaks - minor. 2. The neg carriers are huge - a 5 or 6 strip 35mm is difficult to center, since they are completely covered by the two pieces. Otherwise, it has served me faithfully for years. I had planned to upgrade to the VC head but never bothered - all my printing has been done on graded paper. When Ilford Galerie is finally discontinued, I guess I will change. Unless I manage to get around to the Piezography b&w inks in my Epson 1200... Get the compensating timer as well. Made my life much, much easier compared to my old digital Gra-Lab. With a good lens, the extended column, and M6 negs, I can make stunning 20x24 prints (or larger) without stressing the enlarger.
