I usually err on the other side--I'm too passive and too accommodating, and so can tend to get stomped on if I'm not careful. Right now as I write this, I have a universal polarizer at Leica NJ that fell apart on me. It did this a few months after I bought it and I took it to my local shop which kindly offered to ship it back for repair even though, as far as I know, there is know warranty on this item (it DOES cost a bundle, however). Leica kept it for several weeks (at least two months) before returning it. It seems they tightened it up a bit, but that was all, as after one afternoon's use the polarizer fell apart again. I took it back to the same shop who again shipped it off to NJ. That was two months ago. I phoned the local shop to get a status report; they phoned NJ for me, then called me back to report that it was being worked on and would be 7-10 business days. I'll wait and see what happens this time around, but if the polarizer still isn't fixed, I'll be in a bit of quandary. I suppose a call to NJ "calmly and simply" explaining the situation will be the best course of action. In the end, all I want is a working polarizer--I don't care too much how I get it. I just miss having it, as I find it immensely useful! Dan
