I don't know if that's the case, but it sounded interesting. I have a late 35/2-R and it's a great lens. It's fantastic paired with Kodachrome -- or any b/w film. I'm sure the 35/1.4-R performs just as well. Never have used one, but I've handled one. It's a bit larger than the Summicron. I'm not as much in favor of fast f1.4 lenses for the R system. First, there's a penalty in size and weight (moreso than faster M lenses). Secondly, I don't shoot as much in low light with the R. When I do I often use artificial light. So the max aperture isn't of great value in that respect. It does make for a brighter viewfinder and easier focusing, though. Can't go wrong with either lens, but I went for the Summicron for the preceeding reasons.
