Both my M3's are very bright inside even with a dim lightning. Looking outside in the sun, it may seem dimmer sometimes. Or the mirrors in the rangefinder may be bad. Not a cheap repair if that's the problem. I'm not really sure what causes the rangefinder to get dim.
