You're right on about commenting on emotional content, and little more. What
else can a person critique in an online image? 

Rugger "Your image is a little dark."
Lugger "Not on my screen, it must be your CRT or your calibration."
Rugger "I have an Amiga, what do you have?"
Lugger "I own a Mac!"
Rugger "Are you using OS 7 or OS 10?"
Lugger "I don't know."
Rugger "That's the problem."
Lugger "What's the problem? It's a great photo when viewed on a Mac." 
Rugger "Perhaps it's your Photoshop skill."
Lugger "I'm excellent with Photoshop. However, I confess that my scanner is
crap."
Rugger "Buy a SuperCoolscan and you'll be a better photographer!"
Lugger "That's what kind of scanner I have."
Rugger "Perhaps you need to buy an Imacon."
Lugger "Why, I'm already and excellent photographer. After all, I use
Leica!"
Rugger "Oh, so you've spent all your money on cameras and you can't afford
an Imacon. 
Lugger "Well, I could sell half of them."
Rugger "If you don't mind my asking, what's using Leica got to do with you
being an excellent photographer?"
Lugger "Well, I can resolve 250 lppm on Gigabit film."
Rugger "Cool! You must use Whizzbang developer"
Lugger "Dilution 40:1, how'd you know?"
Rugger "Lucky guess. By the way, nice photo even though it is a little
dark."
Lugger "Thanks. Now that I look at the negative, it is a little dark."
Rugger "?"
