What sane person wants to post messages in an environment where
anything they say gets severely challenged on both a personal and
professional level?

Every person who posts to ANY list runs that risk.

To paraphrase the bard.  The Lug has its share of vampires and to post
a message is like opening a main vein and passing out straws.

IMHO fighting on the internet is cowardly.  Mostly they are performing
for the audience or they would take the fight to private email.

On the amateur radio bands they are called crocodiles, all mouth and no
ears.
