Sir Winston Churchill DID use this same exchange, in the 1950's, and it is generally credited to him. The woman in question was NOT Lady Astor, though she is so generally identified. The name of the actual woman is in Kaye Ballard's book on Churchill's wit and humor. So, Sir Winston stole one of his best lines!
