The R lens line offers some fabulous glass. The 100mm APO Macro is one of the best ever made. The 19mm Elmarit (latest) is one of my favorites. As others have mentioned the 400mm f6.8 Telyt is a great lens and is cheap by Leica standards. I believe that Erwin Puts dubbed the new 180mm APOs as the sharpest 35mm lenses ever made now beating - by a very narrow margin - the 100mm APO. I have an old f3.4 180mm APO - still a great performer. As for bodies - I have a R7 and R6. The R6 is like a reflex M6. The meter is a reference standard of accuracy. The R7 is great on aperture preferred mode using the 400mm - otherwise I use it manually with slide or B&W film. Now that the faults are sorted out, I would recommend the R8. I believe the perfect complement of bodies would be a R8 and R6.2 with an assortment of primes of 19, 100APO, 180APO and 400 f6.8. In the middle I would consider a 35-70 zoom. Good shooting.
