Rob,  I was basing my statement on this quote from
your post . . . "Hence my suggestion for adding
1 -2  stops more exposure."

The ironic thing about all this is that  seventeen
years ago,  outside Mandina's restaurant in New
Orleans,  I was REALLY trying to catch her
litter-mate, the grey kitten, but she was too
fast, (maybe 18%?)

I ended up with the BLACK CAT, which . . .  well,
you know the rest; she needs greater attention in
exposure than the grey one would have.
