Steve,

I can speak for the 180 Summicron.  I recently used it for a shoot both for
potraiture and sports.  The lens is hefty but with an R8 and motor drive,
it is perfectly balanced and I was very comfortable hand holding the combo.
The client was estatic, image quality supersharp with great color.  Film
used Kodak 100VS.
