The process of hardanodizing the alloy turns it a yellow color, somewhat in between brass and gold. The paint can chip, particularly on the early lenses. I have a seriously "brassed" 75/2,5 and an equally "brassed" 50/1,5. They do kind of look good on battered black paint M2's and M3's and even start matching my Millenium M6. Tom A
