The reason I mention this is that a couple a months ago, I went to get new glasses, and they were touting what they called 'invisibles'- which were PLASTIC lenses with an anti reflection coating!!! Obviously, this coating is one that is put on with out heat, as the lenses are plastic, BUT- the coating does cut down reflections considerabley, and though I have to be careful cleaning them- as they tell you the coating is soft- it appears to be put on after the lenses are made. I bet there is someone out there who has access to the technology who might venture to try it on a camera lens. IF it is a chemical process with out use of heat, then I am sure there might be a way to cheaply apply the material to a mounted lens. Not multicoating, certainly, but it might be the ticket on a favorite older lens! If it is an easy and inexpensive process, then prbloems with 'cleaning' marks on thecoating would be moot- simply recoat! Anyone out there in the spectacle industry?
