The first question is how did the publication get your pictures? If the musician gave them to the paper for PR use you should take it up with him. At a newspaper or magazine, when you get PR photos from someone, you assume you can publishing them, without payment or credit for that matter. The next what, rights were spelled out in you licensing agreement with the musician? Next, did you properly register your photographs with the copyright office? Without this, collecting for infringments is more difficult. For more detailed information look at www.editorialphoto.com.
