Yikes!  This sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.  For those times when
I do use a tripod (and I'm surprised now that I finally own one--and one
that is lightweight--how often it comes in handy), I want to be sure the
grip is absolutely secure.  Just my personal paranoia. :)
