They're a good piece of glass but the eye relief is wrong - I can't hold the eyecups right up to my eyes. The Leica bino's have it right and they are brilliant! - I have the 7x42 - the largest exit pupil diameter for easy low light usage, great glass. The 10 power is too difficult for me to use in normal hiking without a rest - I'd happily trade a pair of Ziess 8x56 for a pair of Leica 8x10's. Leica's are pricey but Leica's rule - if you know what you're looking at. gold - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Robert Clark Sent: Friday, February 02, 2001 4:51 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: [Leica] Paris in March / Trinovid Hi all....my spouse and I will be traveling to Paris and Normandy for the week of March 16-24 along with my M6, 50mm Summilux, and a nice assortment of film. May have a 28mm Elmarit by then but not sure. I've been to Paris three times but only once with the Leica. I'd appreciate anyone relaying great photo experiences in Paris and good photo spots other than the obvious ones.....also, any Luggers on the list planning to be there at the same time? We could get together for some Leica conversation, beverages, and maybe a meal. By the way....visited my local camera shop today and handled a Leica 10x50 Trinovid binocular....if you think Leica's photo optics are outstanding, this binocular with make your stand and sing! Unbelievable clarity, ease of focusing, and an external pupil diameter that makes the twilight come alive with brilliance. With a $1200 price tag, they're a bit (ok a lot) steep but I can easily see myself taking the plunge. Bought a Zeiss 8 x 30 binocular last October and their fabulous as well. Best to all, Robert Clark Lancaster, PA
