One afternoon, Max Berek was working on the computations for the lens, then realised he's misplaced his sin/cosine tables with the betting numbers down at the local Wetzlar dog track. Realising all that days mathematical endeavours were wasted he said, "Heck! Tea, or maybe something stronger like Sharpo, Lagavullin, Schnapps or Gluewein". He realised instantly the day's work had not been in vane, he'd hit upon an ideal name for the lens but due to the strict moral tone of 1920's Germany was unable to include any reference to achohol so left out the latter part of the sentence, and abbreviuated the former to HEK + T + OR. Simple ;-) Jem - -----Original Message----- From: Guy Bennett [SMTP:gbennett@lainet.com] Now, who'll have a go at Hektor? Guy L.A. (by the sea)
