John,

Go for the titanium finish. It will harmonize better with either a black or
chrome body as it lets neither tone dominate.

If you can't find a titanium 21/2.8 ASPH (I hear they're rare), get a black
one and refinish it in granite, as you suggested in a recent post. If the
granite is darker rather than lighter in tone, consider coloring all those
cute little numbers orange.

Oh yes, and don't worry about distorsion - it's not nearly as important as
the above issues.
