I absolutely agree to your opinion on "outdated" R glas. But I would say
the Elmarits are hitting the DM rather than USD 700 mark. In the
portabilty and speed game the 2.8/135 wins against the tele-zooms. The
Minolta made 3.5/35-70 is also nice, is the most compact of all R zooms
and has cams for Leicaflex/SL/R.
