I believe the Kodak Gold CD-R's are the best, with claims of at least 100
years. The major concern with CD-R media is really the durability and how
it is handled. If you intend to use the CD-R's you create than it might be
wise to use the Gold CD-R's. If you plan to just store (under "ideal"
condition of course) them, then I don't think it will make too much of a
difference.

I normally use the Kodak Golds for long term and important stuff and use the
cheaper ones for short term stuff and for sending images to my service
bureau for prints and slides.

I will get back to you in 100 years and tell you how my Gold CD-R's are
doing!

BTW, the Kodak Gold CD-R media is only slightly more expensive than your run
of the mill silver media, so there's really no excuse for using the cheaper
media exclusively.

CD-R is still the most economical way to store digital images and with the
correct media and proper storage, possibly the most archival. Maybe second
to DVD-RAM???

Thanks, Thomas
