No. 1 looks like a great print to make. This 8x10 is just a straight print. The problem is the differing levels of illumination in the print (I need to dodge the right hand side -- difficult when holding a clock in one hand and the enlarger switch in the other -- but a timer is on its way) and I need to figure out how to get the white of the "bones" while still retaining shadow detail. I think I'll try the split filtering technique. I just bought a 100 box of 8x10s and I'm picking up some 11x14" this evening. Should look pretty good as a Multigrade IV Portfolio RC print toned in selenium! Got to learn about dry-down, though. I'm discovering the hard way that it compresses the tonal range: both blacks and white move towards grey.
