But is our goal really to see something we like and go ape it - or do "better?" The only thing that keeps me from spending money for prints of certain photographs by photographers whose work I admire is the price tag - I am more in need of money for film, processing, promotion, and equipment than I am in need of a work of art for the wall. But then I don't have the house filled with my own photos on the walls either.... ======================================================================= Well, I am serious. After all, my hobby is photgraphy, not collecting prints. And it's not that I want to ape the works of the gifted photogs that I'm fortunate enough to see exhibited, I just try to learn from their examples. Then, one day, I might be fortunate enough to make good prints of my own. This may be a vain hope, of course - maybe I'm not capable of it. But one thing's for sure: if I can learn to play my part properly, my Leica won't diasappoint me!
