I was quoted $ 450 plus tax. It is no longer economic to de-ROM a new R lens. On the other hand, the parts cost to put a 3rd cam on a 2 cam lens is only about $ 55. Extreme bummer. The ROM contacts occupy the space formerly reserved for one of the Leicaflex metering cams. I would not be at all surprised if Leica puts R-only lens mounts on the ROM lenses to prevent using the lens on a Leicaflex so that the camera's cam follower can't damage the contacts. The good news is that many current lenses can be un-ROMmed and Leicaflex metering cams added. > > > > Doug Herr > > Sacramento > > http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/telyt > > ___________________________________________________ > > The ALL NEW CS2000 from CompuServe > > Better!
