Joe > the art director? Or Joe the Gallery owner or collector. To confuse the issue, GM might be buying a photo of an open road, or GE of a flowing river, to stick in their lobby. Both may be related to their commercial efforts, but the images would be more "art" than a photo of a car or generator. There could be some arty photos of cars or generators that neither would want to be seen by anyone... Michelangelo was definitely a commercial painter, hired to sell the product. (good, though)
