Subject: [Leica] Lens socket thread lining

Hi LUG,

Here's one I've never run into before...

In removing my Telyt R 400mm f5.6 from the tripod today, I notice that there
is [was] an inner thread liner of what looks like stainless steel in the
tripod mounting socket, that has now come loose and remained upon the 1/4
inch tripod screw.

This got "sprung" a bit as I took it off the tripod, with some of the
"thread" still engaged in the socket and some on the screw. Not realizing
they'd parted company, and now mishapen, this spring looking part won't
return to the socket on the lens. The resulting socket is now a larger size
and no longer capable of mating with the tripod, so I have a problem when I
want to shoot tripod mounted.

Anyone have any idea, where I might find a "re-liner" for this socket so I
can thread it, and hold it there with a small dab of Loc-Tite?

Other solutions?

Thanks, all. Enjoy the light!
